Dear Ivan:

It has come to Mommy’s and my attention that you love basketball and are very good at it.  I am so thrilled that you’ve found something you like so much.  I am equally thrilled that 12 years from now you may get yourself a basketball scholarship to college, because in 12 years college will cost more than the entire GDP of the US.

So, keep on dribbling (by which I mean bouncing the basketball, not drooling, just in case there was a question)!
