My wife and I are a mixed-race couple. She’s Black, and I’m White. And, we have a Biracial son named Ivan. I’m very excited about being Ivan’s dad. I love every bit of it.

As with all new dads, I worry about the challenges that lie ahead. One challenge, I know, will be the issues that arise as we are confronted with the realities of race relations in this country. It is my hope, that, together, Ivan and I can be part of the “Dream” that Dr. King spoke of in his famous speech. I hope one day that Ivan tells me about his “Dream.”
