Just because you look a certain way doesn’t mean you think a certain way. Tough-looking guys can be sensitive. Tall guys can hate basketball. Black people can be indifferent about Hip Hop. Asian people can despite martial arts and math.
The point is, judging people on how they look is obviously some of the worst kind of prejudice and stereotyping.
That said, I have to confess that my wife and I (a Black and White interracial couple) love Black and White movies. I don’t know if people think that’s the case by looking at us, but I’m telling you it is the case.
So for those of you out there who are fans of Black and White cinema, here are some of our favorites:
- Casablanca
- Schindler’s List
- The Philadelphia Story
- Psycho
- Manhattan
- It’s a Wonderful Life
- The Maltese Falcon
- Some Like it Hot
- The Apartment
- Double Indemnity
- Gentleman’s Agreement
- The Third Man
So, if you find yourself at home one evening without much planned, check out one of these Black and White movies recommended by this Black and White couple. And, enjoy!
