Being a Dad of Comedy

Written by Alex on November 6, 2013 - 0 Comments

Recently, I co-founded a comedy group called the “Dads of Comedy” (www.dadsofcomedy.com).

Each of us relates our experiences as fathers with our own personal twist and light-hearted views on things.

We like to think our message is meaningful.  Because we think Dads are important.  At least that’s what we tell our kids.

Yes, Moms get all the credit.  As they should.  But, we do stuff too.  Somebody has to carry the groceries, take out the garbage, say crazy stuff that no one understands.

Also, someone has to be in charge of doing the stupid things that make everyone laugh.  Mom can’t do that.  She’s too busy being responsible.  If it weren’t for her, Dad would have the kids dressed in potato sacks, wearing hats all year, and wiping their noses with the backs of their hands.  As a result, Dad has plenty of extra time to do the stuff that the family will never stop talking about and laughing at (like the time Dad tried to install the air conditioner and electrocuted himself).

So, don’t miss the Dads of Comedy, because we’ve had plenty of extra time to come up with stupid stuff that’ll make you laugh.

(But check with your mother first to make sure it’s okay)

We’ll be at NYC’s Gotham Comedy Club, Friday, November 22 at 9pm. Tickets are still available at: http://gothamcomedyclub.com/show.cfm?id=271081&cart
