How To Build a Good Man

Written by Alex on November 6, 2014 - 2 Comments

How do you build a good man? As the father of a 3 year old son, I ask myself that a lot.

I’ll be honest. I’m not really sure.  I don’t fix things.  I don’t use tools.  I don’t know how to get from here to there without a map, unless I have GPS or my iPhone. I’ve never bought a house and have no idea how you’d even go about getting a mortgage.  I don’t ever take things apart because I know I’ll never be able to put them back together.  And, to this day, my idea of shining shoes is taking them to the shoe place and having them do it for me.  I do know how many times to push the button on the remote to get from tv to the dvd player to Apple TV, but I’d be lying if I said I was the one who set all that up.

Luckily for me, the folks at the Good Men Project have created a website that’s dedicated to exploring what it means to be a man.  And, get this, in their infinite wisdom, they’ve invited me to be a guest blogger.  I’ll be posting articles once a week, every Wednesday, and if you want to see my first column, please click here: Don’t See Color, See A Family

I hope you like it. And, if you have other ideas for stories or blogs about what it means to be a man, please send them along.  I’d looking for topics to write about.

I’m very excited to see what you do here. I’ve been following you and your lovely family on fb for a while now, so I’m confident that you more than anyone else has sage advice for us all. Best Wishes, Dana
