My family is a multiracial one. My wife is Black. I am White. Our son is Black and White. As a multiracial family, we often get questions about our lives. Some questions come from well-meaning, curious people. Others from seekers who are starting down a similar path. Others still come from the ignorant. And, of course, worst of all are the questions with sarcasm attached from those who don’t like us simply because of who we are.
For those out there who share our composition and/or want to learn more about multiracial families, here’s a small trivia quiz about multiracial families that will provide you with the information you seek.
1. Are children of multiracial families confused?
Answer: Yes, they are. They’re confused as to why people keep asking them if they’re from Brazil or “the Islands.”
2. Do interracial couples get married just to be different?
Answer: No. Interracial couples have far loftier ambitions. They get married for health insurance and because they want to stop having so much sex.
3. Are multiracial families becoming more common?
Answer: Hey, there’s nothing “common” about multiracial families. We’re as uncommonly good as Keebler cookies.
4. Are biracial children considered Black or White?
Answer: Depends who you ask. Of course, why are you asking?
5. Do White people married to Black people have “permission” to use the N-Word?
Answer: Depends on whether they’re looking to get divorced or not.
BONUS QUESTION — True or False — multiracial families are increasing in number.
Answer: True and False. For now, it’s true. But, at some point everyone will be multiracial, in which case, their families will not be multiracial any longer but will all be one race of multiracial people.

Love the answer to the last question. True gold.
When my wife and I had to pick up our daughter from the Airport in Puerto Rico, the cabbie started talking to her in Spanish on the way to where we were going. He just assumed she was Puerto Rican, even seeing her parents right there.
Wow! Unbelievable.
LOL! I enjoyed this blog. Curiosity is amusing, isn’t it?
